Evening 2nd Shift (3pm to 11pm or similar hours)
Evening 3rd Shift (11pm to 7am or similar hours)
Salary:
Effective June 25th, starting pay is $11.953/hr for Nursing Assistant 1 or $12.934/hr for Nursing Assistant 2, plus an excellent fringe benefits (schedule/range is 06-10 & 06-11 respectively). A six-month probationary period is required.
Special Qualifications:
Must be certified or eligible for certification as a federally Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with the State of Wisconsin. To be eligible for the Nursing Assistant 2 level, must have a minimum of 2000 hours experience as a Nursing Assistant within the last two years.

Applications for both Nursing Assistant 1 (entry) and Nursing Assistant 2 (experienced) are accepted on a continuous basis for vacancies that may be occurring at our Veterans Home in King, WI. We also accept application materials on a continuing basis for any vacancies that may be occurring at our Veterans Home in Union Grove, but you must qualify at the experienced (Nursing Assistant 2) level by having a minimum of 2000 hours nursing care experience within the last two years to be considered for openings at our Union Grove facility. Job Duties:   Provide direct and indirect care including daily hygiene, nutrition and comfort needs to residents. Implement basic care and treatment procedures according to policies and procedures.

Special Notes:   Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to these positions will be required to allow the DVA to conduct a criminal background investigation to determine if the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job.  Must also be able to work varying hours and/or overtime shifts as required.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Oral and written communications skills; ability to follow directions accurately; knowledge of nursing care procedures, techniques and related terminology; and knowledge of basic human needs.

All candidates who apply with a current certification or can show eligibility for certification as a federally Certified Nursing Assistant and who can pass the caregiver background check process will be placed on our register as being "Eligible" for consideration of employment with us for a period of six months.  Formal civil service examination/grade notices to confirm your eligibility are typically mailed within about four weeks from time of application (please do not call before this to check on status). You will then be invited for further consideration, which typically consists of a personal interview, when and if new opportunities do become available during your six month period of eligibility.  Please note that you may also renew/reuse your scores for an additional six months if your are still interested in being considered for employment with us.  We look forward to receiving your completed application materials!
