The Department of Health Services (DHS), Divsion of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (DMHSAS), is continuously accepting applications for these positions. The positions are located at Central Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled (CWC) Madison, Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) Madison, Winnebago Mental Health Institute (WMHI) Winnebago, and Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC) Winnebago. Job Duties:The Psychologist – Licensed performs responsible clinical work in the professional practice of psychology in state institutional and other specialized programs, engaging in the full range of psychological services including assessment, consultation, psychotherapy, research and training. Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the Department of Health Services to conduct a background check (including electronic fingerprinting for CWC applicants) to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the ethical guidelines described by the American Psychological Association, Chapter 51, 971, and 980 of the Wisconsin State Statutes; JACHO Standards for Accreditation and Titles 18 and 19 regulations as they apply to the practice of psychology; various psychotherapeutic interventions with individuals, groups, families, and couples, including behavior therapy; ability to administer and interpret tests of cognitive ability and personality functioning typically used with adult psychiatric patients; basic research methodology and ability to write a research report and/or provide supervision and technical support to others engaged in research activities; statutory definitions of mental illness and ability to provide expert testimony in court settings or in preparing reports for the court; adult learning principles and ability to plan and implement training activities in area of behavioral treatment interventions.
