Salary:
The starting pay is $10.898 per hour, plus excellent benefits. A six-month probationary period will be required. The pay schedule/range is 03-08. This position is represented by the Blue Collar and Non-Building Trades Bargaining Unit.

The Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS) is continuously accepting applications for these positions at the institutes and/or centers indicated. The positions may be located at Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI), Madison (Dane County), Central Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled (CWC), Madison (Dane County), Southern Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled (SWC), Union Grove (Racine County), and/or Winnebago Mental Health Institute (WMHI), Winnebago (Winnebago County). Job Duties:   

Responsible for the preparation and serving of food, which includes servery, fountain, kitchen, cafeteria, dish room and dining room tasks; serve meals, lunches and special nourishment to residents and/or customers; assist in setting up centralized serving lines for insulated tray system; set up and serve food according to tray cards, posted menus and/or diets; wash and sanitize trays, covers and utensils; and clean, sanitize and maintain equipment and floors.

Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the Department of Health and Family Services to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
