Salary:
Minimum starting salary is $17.609 per hour, plus excellent benefits. This position is in pay schedule 06, range 14. A six month probationary period is required.
Special Qualifications:
Individuals must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Practical Nurse in the State of Wisconsin. Some institutions are accepting a Permit to Practice, however, you must confirm this with the institution. The Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Long Term Care (DLTC) is continuously accepting applications for these positions at the institutes and/or centers indicated. NOTE: Vacancies may or may not be available at the time of your application. Positions may be full-time or part-time. Job Duties:   The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care to meet physical and emotional needs of assigned patients or an assigned patient population.

Special Notes:   Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the Department of Health Services to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Knowledge of administering medications or treatments and basic physical needs of individuals across the life span. Ability to assess and describe behaviors and responses indicative of illness or dysfunction; make pertinent visual observations; learn, comprehend and retain specialized vocabulary and abbreviations.
